Kitchen Conservatory Fish Class<\/em><\/p>\n

As a birthday present this year, Andrew signed me up for a class that revolved around fish: selecting, cleaning, preparing, and eating. We eat fish at least once a week, so this seemed like a fantastic idea to him. And I was really excited to attend! I would get to go to this place where the focus would be on something I genuinely enjoy doing. Plus, I would get to eat well and even enjoy a small glass of wine before returning to a house full of sleeping little angels. What’s not to like?!!\"DSC_0004\"<\/p>\n

Well, let me just say, the evening did not <\/em>disappoint. But not in the way I would have expected. After all, I was flattered by the woman’s advances who sat next to me (I don’t wear a wedding ring, so how was she to know I wasn’t available?), entertained by the obese woman who spoke incessantly about her colitis, perplexed by the young couple who sat across the room from me who basically ignored the entire demonstration to peruse their blackberry devices, and genuinely amazed by the stench of my breath after eating a three-course dinner consisting of every kind of seafood imaginable.<\/p>\n

Oh, yeah. It was that good. Two-and-a-half hours of pure comic relief. Though laughing out loud was frowned upon with this <\/em>crowd.<\/p>\n

Tuna Bolognese<\/em><\/p>\n

But the food was<\/em> really good.<\/p>\n

Steamed mussels in green curry and coconut milk<\/em><\/p>\n

Fish stew with saffron (the major culprit of the breath issue)<\/em><\/p>\n

No, seriously. My breath was so bad. The fish odor was seeping out of my pores by the time I got home. Andrew was speechless and the stench coming from my mouth was giving me an actual headache.<\/p>\n

So, thanks Andrew, for the good times. I really wish you could have been there with me. Next year, maybe go with the gift card from Anthropologie?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
