But what I learned in the two years since was that this room, arguably the brightest room in the house, was not conducive to naps. I had painted it a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crumbbums.com\/?p=812\" target=\"_blank\">light gray-blue<\/a>, which did not help the situation. So a couple of months ago, in anticipation of the youngest of our brood kicking his older brother out, I repainted it a dark stone color which happened to be sitting in our basement left over from another project. There was just enough paint for two coats, and voila! A nursery re-do which boasts a much darker, more tranquil atmosphere for the nap-impaired.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.static.flickr.com\/7115\/7133135511_e81e87720d_b.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0074\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We swapped out a few things to personalize it, like this mirror bunting, then it was ready for Emil.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.static.flickr.com\/8142\/7133128861_a7786fa81e_b.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0006\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The rug is one of my favorite things in this room; big, round, plush, and BRIGHT! I wanted to keep the rest of the room neutral and calm since the orange is so dominating. We found it at<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ikea.com\/us\/en\/catalog\/categories\/departments\/Textiles\/10653\/?pageNumber=0\" target=\"_blank\"> IKEA<\/a>. The glider has seen much use and has caused many asleep hind-ends over the past 4 1\/2 years of near-constant use. The dresser with marble top(!) is an antique gifted from my mom (like much of the furniture in our house)!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.static.flickr.com\/7200\/7133134639_e05e736176_b.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0071\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.static.flickr.com\/7039\/6987050008_27d3792c72_b.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0060\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Almost all of the artwork in here is from old books which were falling apart, and frames left over from college.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.static.flickr.com\/7222\/6987050414_e5d12ef901_b.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0066\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>We have plants in nearly every room- I&#8217;ve found through trial and error that succulents do best, and they require very little maintenance&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.static.flickr.com\/7125\/6987046348_39b4bf1fc0_b.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0014\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>&#8230; unlike other things&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.static.flickr.com\/7267\/6987047126_67f73aa82d_b.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0032\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>A vintage denim shirt found on Etsy which Emil fit into for about one day before outgrowing. \u00a0Octopus hook found at Anthropologie.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.static.flickr.com\/7246\/7133132227_4b969958a6_b.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0044\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The canvas print above was also found on Etsy- I love <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/utilitarianfranchise\" target=\"_blank\">this guy<\/a>&#8216;s stuff!
