This past weekend was our family pumpkin patch trip. The main purpose was two-fold: to enjoy some good fall festival fun and to meet Andrew’s cousin Keelan’s new baby girl, Arden. We headed to Rombach’s Farm, a family-owned operation that both Andrew and Keelan remember going to as kids!<\/p>\n

There was so much to see and do! I was a little worried that some of the scarier stuff (like the crazy life-sized skeleton pirate who yelled at you if you came close enough) would freak Oliver or Emil out, but the whole thing turned into a fantastic game of run away, come back again to taunt the skeleton, run away again fun:<\/p>\n

Emil was oblivious to this game.<\/em><\/p>\n

… and pretty much everything except for crossing this small bridge over and over again.<\/em><\/p>\n

The corn field was also a great hit– what is it about kids and corn fields?<\/em><\/p>\n

We explored the giant pumpkin field, full of cool rotten stuff, before Oliver became Mr. Grumpy-Pants and demanded to be watered and fed:<\/p>\n

And then, the funniest thing happened! We ran into this fellow blogger:<\/p>\n

… Erin, and her amazing and beautiful family (they have four of the most adorable, well-behaved little kids, the youngest of which is made of sunshine and giggles and a ton of lead)! Check out her blog here<\/a>— amazing and hilarious writer (and super brave<\/a> too)! I mean, I really, really<\/em> like her and have no idea why we haven’t gotten all 90 of our kids together again… totally our fault, that one. Want to be real-life friends, Erin? Pretty please?<\/p>\n

And you know what else is funny? The kids didn’t even ask to buy pumpkins, so we didn’t (they were crazy expensive anyway)! Nope. But don’t worry. Oliver threw a rockin’ tantrum on the way out because he wanted “MOOOOORE LEMONADE! WAAAAAHHHHHH!”<\/p>\n

… which we made. Half an hour later, at home.<\/p>\n
