As what seems to be the case in most homes, our kitchen is our most-used room of the house. We cook, brew beer, do dishes, hang out, watch music videos, dance, play music, cook some more, do more dishes. In our kitchen, we have one stool, handed down from Andrew’s aunt years ago. There used to be more, but they broke, and we never replaced them. The boys drag their little white play chairs in and line them up along the counter top. Sometimes Milo sits on the counter. Other times he does dips perched on the corner, propped up on the right angle of the counter’s curve.<\/p>\n

We make juice (green for Andrew, carrot-orange for Oliver and Emil), we bake, we surf the internet. Recently Emil has been dragging his little guitar into the kitchen and playing music for us while we prepare dinner. The noise in this room is full, rich, and often raucous. The radio blares while two kids demand two different things at once. The dog weaves underfoot and I beg for everyone to go OUT before you get burned!<\/em>\u00a0\"DSC_0017\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Wonderful things happen in the kitchen. Good smells, good talks, good teaching moments. Oliver took his first steps (with guacamole as the reward!) in this kitchen.
