But play dough in general is a hot commodity around this house; soon after we ran out, I had several little boys asking me for more. I decided to\u00a0<em>finally\u00a0<\/em>try to make our own. Only, I also thought it would be cool to make it smell like fall. You know, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger- rather than, well, play dough. Here is what I came up with!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fall Spice Play Dough\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 15px;\">1 cup flour<\/span><\/li>\n<li>2 tsp cream of tartar<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp cloves<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp ginger<\/li>\n<li>1 cup water<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup table salt<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp oil (I used canola)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whisk together dry ingredients. Pour into saucepan on stove top, then add water and oil. Whisk together over low heat until well-incorporated. Using a wooden spoon, continue to stir (scraping down the sides of the pan) for a few minutes until the mixture slightly hardens around your spoon. Once it is difficult to stir, remove from heat and allow to cool. And voila! You have some nice-smelling play dough! Feel free to add food coloring (add with the water and oil) if you&#8217;d like.<\/p>\n<p>On a different note, I will be taking a much-needed internet\/blogging break for the next week. As much as I love blogging, doing it on a daily basis is a lot of work! I&#8217;m looking forward to unplugging and spending a lot of time outdoors with all four of my favorite guys.
