\"DSC_0018\"<\/a>My style has evolved so much over my adulthood, but especially over the past few years. Since making the decision that three children was a good place to stop\u00a0(geez, if we kept going on like we were, who knows what kind of madness would ensue!), <\/em>my body has stayed the same size and weight. I feel comfortable in my skin and I feel confident that I can maintain it through healthy eating and exercise. And because of this, I have been able to get rid of the stuff that didn’t fit right and replace it with stuff I really love and hope to wear for a long time.<\/p>\n

But something interesting also happened when I made this purge. I no longer wanted the super trendy stuff. I just wanted the basics, but the\u00a0good\u00a0<\/em>basics. I wanted a white shirt with the perfect drape and material that I could wear out to a fancy dinner with my lovie\u00a0or <\/em>with jeans and boots for a friend date. I wanted that one shirt to carry me through so many different scenarios that I would wear it to death, until the armpits were stained and it split with holes from so much love. I do wear my clothes until they are literally falling apart.\u00a0\"DSC_0032\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And the same goes for my shoes. Which is where these come in- my favorite\u00a0favorite\u00a0<\/em>best clogs that were cracked in half in the car accident<\/a> last summer that totaled our car but left us all thankfully unscathed. Despite the crack, I still wear them. I love them, after all! And they don’t wobble or seem to be getting worse, so I will just pretend they are not damaged until they throw me floundering onto the ground once they finally give out.<\/p>\n

Here is an outfit idea for Thanksgiving (though if you are a slob while eating like I am, you might consider a bib- that gravy is tough to get out of a nice silky white shirt). A flowy, sheer white shirt, gray skinnies with ankle zips, and nice cognac colored clogs. A faux fur stole adds warmth and a bit of vintage fanciness. And a tip for what to wear under those sheer white shirts? Skip the white camisole and slip on a nude one instead- it won’t show through like white will! I have found perfection in Madewell’s perfect racerback tank<\/a>–\u00a0<\/em>it is silky smooth, like wearing a second skin, plus they are on sale right now and you can’t beat that!\u00a0\"DSC_0041\"<\/a>How about you?
