This past weekend, we had one really nice day weather-wise. Saturday morning, we all woke up to bright sunshine and had no idea just how warm it was outside until we stepped out into it. Andrew took Milo and Emil with him to run errands while Oliver and I had some precious one-on-one time. Oliver and I rarely get that time together- sometimes I take Milo to his circus class alone, and I am with Emil all day every day while the older two are in school, but rarely is it just Oliver and his mama. We took full advantage by walking hand-in-hand to Winslow’s Home and enjoying a long breakfast together- coffee for me, grapefruit juice for him, sticky buns for both (we should have just split one).\"DSC_0108\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Afterwards we walked directly to the playground to blow bubbles and play in the stick-and-stone fort he had helped some big boys build the previous day. It was actually pretty well-built!\"DSC_0137\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"DSC_0139\"<\/a>The whole day was busy and full. I enjoyed all of it. While taking Milo to his circus class downtown that afternoon, he sat in the back asking me trivia questions and asking himself math questions- geez, I think he’s already surpassed my math skills at 6 1\/2 years old! At the class, I was lucky to spend an hour talking with my dear friend while our kids hung from trapeze bars and balanced upon huge balls while balancing peacock feathers upright on their palms. Our lives are truly never dull!<\/p>\n

And as if the day wasn’t great enough already, we got to cap it all off with a dinner out with our friends Maggie & Alex at Juniper<\/a> in the Central West End. I always laugh so hard when we go out with those two! They are full of adventures and funny stories, and we just adore them both.<\/p>\n

Honestly, it was a welcome respite in this miserable winter. Saturday felt like a dream, and Sunday we all awoke to the reality of this time of year- grey skies, cold wind, laundry to be washed and folded, work to be done, and back to sweaters and coats and plenty of tantrums from little ones. I think we are all so done with winter. Knowing that spring surely must be around the corner is getting us through… at least we have had plenty of time to practice standing on our heads.\u00a0\"DSC_0041\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This week I plan on starting a few seeds for our garden on our third floor. We always seem to put that off until it’s too late, and this year I want to be on top of it. Plus, someone sent me a packet of seeds for my birthday earlier this month and I have no idea who sent it! If you are reading this, fess up! I want to thank you properly!\u00a0Happy Monday.
