Yes, I know I promised house pictures. And no, I have not delivered. Yet.<\/p>\n

Truth be told, I am (surprise!!!) a bit of a perfectionist (gasp!) and IF I showed you pictures of the house right now, they would look something like this. Use your imagination now. Picture an empty room but for a few drywall-dusty footprints, outlets hanging out of walls, holes in ceilings, and piles upon piles of dusty dirty grit. That would be our “office.” Now, picture this. Imagination again, please. A room, halfway painted, with the most hideous light fixtures you have ever seen in your life. They emit pink light. PINK! And the ceiling of this room is still mauve. Perhaps to enhance the pinkish lights? Because I haven’t gotten my act together on that one yet. Off to one side, you will see a mattress and box spring on the floor. Because our antique bed does not fit in this once-attic remodel job. On the opposite side, you will see an entire wall full of junk. You know, guitars, records, drawers with notecards saying “THANKS A BUNCH!” and old mix CD’s from college spewing out onto the lovely beige carpet. All these things used to be in aforementioned office. Which now has no closet and absolutely no storage.<\/p>\n

Why not show us the living room, you ask? Well, maybe I will. But it will take some re-arranging, as some things had to be moved downstairs to accommodate the work upstairs. And our dining room is also in an uproar. It makes me sad. But we are saving, and scheming, and plotting and planning, and one day it will be fabulous. This weekend, I PROMISE I will take pictures of the playroom (which still has no rug), Milo’s room (done?), and Oliver’s room and you will get your fix. Everything else, well, maybe you can find some tidbits of style and charm in the background of pictures focusing on the wee ones. Oh, and did I mention that Milo, Oliver, and I are all sick?<\/p>\n

Oh yeah. And Milo and Oliver are reaching all the typical milestones. You know, preschool, new teeth, first steps, first words (Uh-oh, night-night, milk- all barely distinguishable and utterly amazing), and first sleep through the night (7:30 to 6:30. BAM!). Milo is now terrified of witches and thinks he sees them everywhere. Oliver carries around a fake giant plastic spoon with eyes on it and freaks the heck out if anyone tries to “borrow” it for a while.<\/p>\n
