Ah, the blue skies, the smell of fires in neighborhood fireplaces (and ours), the sound of crisp fallen leaves crackling under stroller wheels, the obligatory trip to the pumpkin patch for the annual family pumpkins… the screams of children as they refuse to nap after awakening at 3:45am (!!!!!!!) and NOT going back to sleep…. ah. No. Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!<\/p>\n

But really, that is just today. Just a bad day, just like any other bad day- few and far between- especially in the wonderful month of October, which is arguably the best month of the year. Just a get-it-the-heck-over-with kind of day. But…. this <\/em>day, the day from the pictures, nearly one week ago, was a fantastic kind of day. We trekked out to Rombach’s Farm, a site from Andrew’s childhood memories, which has over time become more carnival than patch. But we found our spot, way out in the $40-and-down pumpkin patch where the smell of enormous genetically-modified rotting pumpkins mingled with straw, goat shit, and the sweat of little boys who refused to take off their sweatshirts in 80-degree heat.<\/p>\n
