Last Sunday brought beautiful 72-degree weather, of which we took full advantage by making our appearance at Washington University’s annual carnival. The fact that this production is put on by the students did not deter us from riding all the rides and eating all of the greasy carnival food. It was both boys’ first time at a fair, but you wouldn’t know it from Milo’s “old pro” approach.
He fearlessly went on every ride he was tall enough to go on. The Ferris Wheel did not intimidate…
And he went on the roller coaster (noisy and pretty darn fast for a three-year-old) three times by himself. No fear.
While poor Oliver was pretty much doomed to watch all the fun pass him by until we found a suitable ride (the carousel) for him. But don’t worry. He cared most about the french fries smothered in ketchup and a nice greasy funnel cake, of course.
Purple motorcycle to match his purple GLITTER dinosaur tattoo.
See that kid all alone in the fourth car back with his hands in the air?
Milo, the carnival guy.
Of course, leaving was all tears and despair. I think this summer we will be carnival-hopping!
Milo is amazing. Although “amazing” may mean “you’ve REALLY got your hands full” when he is a teenager! Love Milo’s spirit and enthusiasm for life!
great shots, Lauren! wow, Milo really is fearless! Has he been keeping up with his ballet lesson?
Annie- yes, Milo followed ballet all the way through, and had his final class last week. He still does his ballet moves at home – we’re debating signing him up for the next session (in fall)!
Look at Prof Knight in that professorly hat
Jack is also a huge fan of the “build-on-your-parking lot-this-weekend” carnival rides. I wish he and Milo could be carnies together.
