One Fine Day

In my last post I mentioned how much it has been raining lately. I know I am preaching to the choir here, as it seems that most of the Midwest and a good portion of the East Coast is receiving the same unwanted visitors (tornadoes and floods and just altogether too much rain), but it has been ridiculous! Just when we creep out of winter, thinking we have sunny warm days to look forward to, rain. Rain. And more rain.

But this weekend, on Saturday, we had ONE fine day. As in, it wasn’t glorious weather, but it was fine. Fine enough to plan a last-minute barbecue with a few close friends and neighbors and their lovely offspring.

So early that morning, Andrew took care of the invites (and a saucy recipe for jalapeno margaritas- yowza!) while I planned the menu, and at 3:30pm, voila! Party. Our gracious friends also brought along a few treats, including…

Flavor-ice!

Which Oliver somehow managed to devour in lightning speed…

The party managed to last well beyond Milo and Oliver’s bedtimes, but we lazed around almost all day Sunday to recover. We look forward to having many more of these impromptu get-togethers this summer. I’m thinking water balloons for the next one? Here’s to fine days and all the company they bring!

  1. At least you have very, very green grass now 😉 Looks like such a fun and relaxed get-together! I love these group shots of the little ones – sooo cute.

  2. Hi Lauren,

Love those cute little faces. Wish we could have been there.

Will the talented lady come out from behind the camera and say hello?

    xo

  3. Another vote for green grass. Only brown grass here, hot days, and water restrictions. How wonderful that their are little ones around for your boys to play with. It looks like Milo has a girlfriend.
