Farewell for Now

DSC_0037

I’ve decided to take a break from blogging to figure out some stuff in my real life. Sometimes it takes a big change to gain clarity, and for me this includes shaking up my daily routine in order to reassess my priorities. I will probably return to this space at some point — maybe in a couple of weeks, maybe later, but for now I’m yearning for privacy and reflection. Be well!

  1. I hope you have a peaceful end of summer. You’ll have many readers and friends if and when you decide to write again. (And I sincerely hope you will.)

Hopefully we’ll bump into one another again soon, maybe in a more glamorous place than the grocery store parking lot.

  2. I do understand your need for a break and hope you have a few peaceful weeks to work through all the (hopefully not too troublesome) real life stuff. That being said, I truly hope this will only be a temporary break and, one day, you will return and treat us to more great posts, pictures and stories – maybe in a slightly, more comfortable-for-you way? It is always a pleasure to come here and read/see your perspective on the world…
Be well, and take care, and have a great summer!

  3. I’ll miss reading your posts! I do basically every day. Your reflections are thoughtful, your ideas unique, and your aesthetic soothing. I understand the need for a break, but I too sincerely hope to see you return soon! Be well.

  4. I always look forward to seeing one of your posts pop up in my blog reader, and will continue to do so! I wish you the best in finding the space and time you need for yourself right now.

  5. Be well and I do hope you return! I take much counsel from your writings and mothering-inspiration even though I do not yet have children myself.
    With care,
    Libby

  6. You will be missed, but I am certain that the community that reads your blog understands and supports you. Enjoy your privacy. Sending lots of love your way! xxxx

  7. Take as long as you need but I too hope you return. I look forward to Monday mornings as, once the school run is complete, I pop the kettle on and check for your weekend shenanigans update. I only have the one boy but I enjoy reading about what your trio have been up to. My favourite posts were from your holiday in Asheville but I’m also inspired to visit St. Louis too. Best wishes. Lx

  8. Hope all is well, Lauren! Will miss you and be on the lookout for your writing in the future. Completely understand the need for a break, of course! All best wishes! xo

  9. Hi Lauren, you’re blog has been a bright spot in my life, and many others, each day for years now. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights, outfits and beautiful photographs with us. I hope you get everything you need from this break. Here’s to a happy Summer for you and your family!

  10. Gutted that you are taking a break, Lauren. I have been following silently from the UK for a while & love the outdoors lifestyle you & your boys are able to have in St Louis. Your dress that mama posts are the best (I would love to see the dress that prof posts return!) I have also got a little Emil – so I love to follow your Emil’s exploits. My Emil has two big sisters who baby him no end but he is so brave and bold and able to stand up to them! Do hope you return and whatever you need to work through is worked through in as painless a way as possible. Peace & love Xanthe

  11. Say it ain’t so! But seriously, I hope you enjoy your time and return at some point. I love your blog, you writing, your outfits, and your pictures of your lovely family.

  12. Thanks so much for your posts! It’s been a pleasure following your blog. Best of luck with the soul searching ahead!

  13. Wow, what a sad surprise – I will miss your posts as yours is my favorite blog. I hope everything is well and I wish you all the best.

  14. Whether or not you decide to continue blogging, I want to thank you for all that you have shared over the past years. I have really appreciated your creativity, thoughtfulness and style. You are amazing and inspiring! Take care, Katherine

  15. Your blog was the first blog I read each morning. My husband and I want a family so badly, and it hasn’t been easy, and your blog gave me a nice respite from all of that. Plus, your recipes are amazing. (Please don’t “shut down” your blog so we can continue to use old recipes!) If you decide to come back, I will be here!

  16. Just wanted to say we’ll be here if you decided to come back. Blessings to you and your sweet family.

  17. Oh no! I just found you and your blog. I hope you’ll be back soon as I have enjoyed reading your posts. Take care.

  18. May the respite be just what you and yours need. Please know you’ll always have a ready in me, should you choose to return. Warm thoughts for you from Boston!

  19. This may sound a little weird, but I’ve been thinking about it for a few days. I know I haven’t seen you in person in a zillion years and even before then we knew each other peripherally, but there are lots of times reading your blog or following you on Spotify where I’ve been so right where you are with your interests, reflections, etc. And I think I’m a pretty unique person, open minded, easy to talk to, and pretty knowledgeable about lots of random stuff you wouldn’t expect, like relationships and spirituality. All of that to say: if you ever feel like you need to talk to someone who won’t judge you, but who cares enough to try but in a personal way such that I would be offended (ha), I’m happy to talk. Just wanted to make the offer. I won’t leave my email here but you can look me up on Ball State’s website if you need to! Be well!

  20. I hope all is well, and you will be able to create peace with whatever is going on. I hope you will be back to posting on your blog at some point. I feel like we have gotten to know each other during our blogs and raising our children. I have admired your balance and love which you give to your family. I also gravitate to your style, enjoyed watching your garden grow, and all the unique details you placed in your home. So, I hope you come back. ((hugs))

  21. I’ve been missing you! I was so sick when you posted this that I couldn’t even pull it together to leave a reply, but your’s is pretty much the only blog I continue to follow. And I really miss it! I got so accustomed to the daily updates and snapshots of your family, it really does feel like a loss. I hope you come back, and more than that, I hope you guys are all doing really well. Sending lots of love your way.

  22. Sweetie, adding you to my prayers, and hoping that all is well and clear when you have a little space. Please do let me know if you need anything in irl that can be delivered from a distance. Sending you love, take good care.

  23. Adding my well wishes and hoping you do return someday. I absolutely understand the need for space. I miss your writing and your photos. Take care.

  24. Hi.

My wife sent me to say you that this blog is one of her favorites. She hopes you will continue it.

    Sorry for my English.

  25. Checking in on the regular like the creeper that I am, and hope you’re doing well, regardless of whether you decide to return to blogging. All the love!
    xo,
    Allison
