To Wear This Fall

DSC_0153

Halfway through the summer, the Dress That Mama posts began to feel a bit like work. The heat and activities I was involved in with my kids left me wearing a bathing suit most days, or a loose tank and jean shorts… and the one pair of sandals I own. Man did those hold out!

But as the weather grows cooler, especially at night, I am starting to experiment with my fall wardrobe. After replacing two pairs of shoes that were all but devastated in the car crash, and buying a couple of very basic basics, I find myself putting together very monochromatic outfits: all black with brown boots, or mostly gray with a small pop of color. I have been drawn to pants instead of dresses and skirts, which is unusual for me, but I’m going with it!ย DSC_0173

And to tell the truth, I’m not sure I’ll go back to posting outfits. I think it is fun sometimes, but other times it feels strange and vain, and unless there is real joy in seeing/reading those posts from you guys, I might fill that space with something else. What do you say?

  1. I love all these outfits! They look like Fall for certain. I for one enjoy your outfit posts because of your casual, yet elegant and seemingly effortless style! Just when I think I can’t stand to look at one more ironic cat dress, I know you’ll be wearing something just as adorable, but just better. You dress like a stylish woman instead of a trendy girl!

  2. I love those posts but if you don’t feel them you should not force yourself to post them. We have a similar style and I truly enjoyed your posts on your closet organization as well as outfits you wear. It inspires me ๐Ÿ™‚

You’re a beautiful mama with a great sense of style. I think that’s something to be shared and celebrated! It’s also a reminder that even though we’re mothers and homemakers, it’s OK to care about appearance.

  6. Thank you for the feedback! I don’t feel so weird posting the outfits as long as people are enjoying them. This is enough for me to continue to post- maybe not every week, but I’ll certainly do my best!
