Dress That Mama: Fall 1

DSC_0002I’m going to venture out and say that the “transition to fall” posts are officially over- fall is in full swing over here. On Saturday morning we woke up to the heat blasting in our house (and we only keep the thermostat at 67). Overnight rains had brought much cooler temperatures, so when we went for our morning walk with the boys, I was glad to have a very warm oversized sweater. DSC_0005This sweater is one I have been coveting for some time, and I’m so glad I splurged, because soon after I took the plunge, it sold out online. I have been seeing these good quality sweaters everywhere. They are thick, warm, and very versatile- I plan to wear mine over dresses short and long, over a long skirt and slim-fitting shirt, over skinny jeans or black moto pants. I’m going to say that it will come in handy in covering up those extra holiday meat-on-the-bones pounds that happen to us all. Plus, it’s like wearing a super soft blanket out in public. DSC_0043Here are some similar styles: similar color in waffle weave, I adore this one in gray, a preppy version by Madewell that would go with everything, a sweater cape for a different, equally warm and snuggly effect, or go vintage here!

  1. That looks like such a warm and comfy sweater! I can imagine it going perfectly with leggings or a pair of skinny jeans. I have one similar to this with an aztec print, but I’m going to keep my eyes peeled open for a neutral color for more outfit possibilities! Lovely outfit!

  2. So beautiful! I love that dress, I covet it every time I see you wear it. Your new sweater looks perfect for these chilly Fall days! And you’re so right, Missouri is in full Fall swing now!
