Sometimes our dog Proudie likes to scratch at the bedding before she nestles down to sleep. It drives me absolutely bonkers because I know that she is breaking down the fabric and it will eventually tear… that, and the fact that there is a dog under the covers. I am of the belief that dogs should sleep at the foot of the bed or, gasp, on the ever-loving floor… but, as Andrew will tell you, Proudie has lived with him for longer than I have, so habits were formed before we could discuss them. Eh-ehm.
Anyway, so that happened. The soft, loved, scratched-at sheets on our bed finally gave out and I found them ripped to shreds. I didn’t want to throw them out, though. So the boys and I spent an entire morning having a blast ripping them into long strips (do you know how good it feels to rip something up?!!). I told them that since I was their mummy, I might be one for real next Halloween, and these would be the perfect thing.
He wrapped himself up and walked around like a zombie-baby for a while before I ran for the camera. I’m so glad I did. What a little ham.
Repurposing something always makes me feel better about its original demise.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Not to be critical of that little ham, but he should work on being more scary, and less adorable if he thinks he’s going to be a mummy.
They would have worn out eventually anyways – why not at the paw of a beloved pet? Glad you are having fun with the remains.
Happy weekend!
you are such a fun “mummy”! These pics are soooo great. Hope you guys have a fun weekend!
Gorgeous boy in a gorgeous chair! Can we talk about the scrolling and the caning? Zow!
I share your feelings of where a dog should sleep. In fact, I think they should sleep in other people’s homes. My dog-loving husband is in battles with me over this. Anyway! These pictures are just darling. Emil is so cute, even as a mummy!
goodness he is too cute.

Love that rug!
This. Absolutely amazing!
