Weekend Shenanigans

This weekend was so relaxing. We celebrated having Andrew around before his week-long trip to Vancouver. There was much swimming pool time (where Milo went off the platform 50 times in a row and Oliver practiced his underwater flips), followed by exhausted little boys enjoying their new obsession: Star Wars. They constantly pretend, Lego-build, read about, talk about, and obsess over Star Wars! We’ve been letting them watch almost every episode (one is particularly more violent than the others). I never thought I’d see the day…DSC_0118DSC_0143DSC_0144DSC_0148Oliver wanted to get Emil an early birthday present, and the above pajamas are what he chose. Darth Vader has been in our house all weekend long with enhanced sound effects. DSC_0147DSC_0132

There were also marshmallow-and-toothpick structures (Oliver’s request) and plenty of cleaning for our visitors, who arrived on Sunday.

Hope you have a great Monday today!

  1. The Star Wars pull is real. Each of my kids went through a phase where they couldn’t get enough of the movies (and cartoons and books and Legos and costumes…) And I have to say it is one of my favorite phases that the kids went through. So, so much better than Thomas the Train stage, but not as awesome as the Harry Potter phase or the Percy Jackson/Greek mythology stage.

  2. Are those roses from your yard? What a gorgeous color.

And that salad. I love figs. Have you been to Sauce on the Side? Next time you go, try the Figgy Piggy. It’s the stuff of dreams, and basically the calzone version of that salad. (Minus the healthy greens!)

Missed the Star Wars stage, but def. hit the Harry Potter / Percy Jackson hard. Looking forward to round two in a few years with the little one.
