Reading…

DSC_0110Currently really enjoying H is for Hawk by Helen MacDonald, a memoir about a writer who loses her father and takes on the difficult process of training a goshawk, a most fierce predator in which she sees much of her own temperament reflected. I’m really interested in the hawk facts as well as the impact of the grief from the loss MacDonald has experienced. I’m almost finished; with a good stretch of time, I’ll devour the rest of this book. I can’t wait to discuss it with a new group of witty, fun ladies during our first book club meeting. It’s going to be a good one!

  1. Oh I want to read this!!! I’ve been reading up a storm as a coping mechanism lately and am reading several really interesting books: I highly recommend “Between The World and Me”, and found “The Book Of Strange New Things” entertaining, but kind of silly in the end, I’m also loving, okay maybe that’s not the right word, “The New Jim Crow”, and our book club is finally going to read through and discuss “Caliban and The Witch”, which should be fascinating. I’m also re-reading “The Women Who Run With The Wolves”. Wow. I read too much ;D
