Get Ready…

DSC_0009

… Because we just took our annual Christmas card picture, and man oh man is it a good one (at least I think so)! And no, I won’t be giving any hints. You’ll just have to wait… but here is last year’s card, and the year before that (I was newly pregnant with Emil in these pictures and didn’t know it yet)! By the way, the above is the set-up before Oliver was in costume. Yes. Costume.

Andrew is out of town for another 4-day stint, but hopefully this is the last trip for a while (he’s been collecting data for his research). While he’s gone, the boys and I will get started on Christmas shopping and maybe take a little day trip if all goes well. Hope you have a fantastic weekend, and Happy December 1st tomorrow! Woo-hoo!

Some warming links for your weekend:

I am loving this blanket in orange.

Cozy tights.

The cutest slippers for a little guy… or an even littler one.

… and this coverall hat is amazing– also called a pullover balaclava– who knew? (but only if you have unlimited funds, of course… which I don’t… boo.)

A great pair of gloves for a guy.

A great mug for that hot cup of tea or coffee (that light green color is my favorite).

Stay cozy!  DSC_0015

  1. I can’t wait to see it!!! You two are SO creative. Thanks for letting us borrow Andrew for one more night, Lauren. We will miss you at the dinner!

  2. I can’t wait to see what you guys came up with. I loved you card last year, I think it was the first post of your’s I read and I thought, these people are the coolest! We are having such a hard time with our card. We are usually boring and just do Wyatt… I wanted to be more creative this year, but we just couldn’t think of anything or agree and now out of time. I guess it’s just Wyatt being cute again (unless you want to throw me one of your rejected ideas :))

  3. Lilly- I’m sure whatever you do will be fantastic! Wyatt is at such a cute age and you take such amazing photos! Oh, and the ideas come straight from Andrew. He’s the creative mind at work behind all of the cards!

  4. Your past holiday cards were amazing! I can’t wait to see what you came up with this year :).

p.s. thanks for your input on my home remodel post. I definitely agree that a little bit of old (or vintage) mixed with the new will keep it from looking too polished or too sterile.

p.p.s your arm chairs are gorgeous!

  5. Costumes?! I’m looking forward to seeing this. If it’s as good as the last couple years then I think we have something really special to look forward to. 🙂

  6. I can’t wait to see this year’s card! I am in love with last year’s…so funny and cute! I’m kind of inspired to do something more than the potato stamp cards I had planned. Hmm..

  7. Hey Lauren,
I enjoy reading your blog to find fun things to do around St. Louis. My husband and I went to the World Bird Sanctuary today and thought that you and your boys would love it. And the best part is that it was free 🙂 Make sure you go on the Tunnel Trail.
