Happy Friday + Links

We keep getting glimpses of spring around here… one day it will be t-shirt weather, the sun warm on our faces, the beginnings of flowers popping out of the muddy earth… then the next day, February again! Such strange weather, but it is so nice to pretend that spring is just around the corner. We don’t have any big plans for the weekend. Here are some links from around the web, though:

A simple, adorable idea to present to your little valentine at lunch!

I love this idea on teaching boys to nurture.

For the knitter: hedgehog mittens!

If my hair weren’t stick-straight, I would wear it like this in a heartbeat.

Greek baked eggs— I have been drooling over this recipe for days.

Lusting over this fence for our garden… if only it would keep out the neighborhood cats. Sigh.

And speaking of gardens, how amazing is this one? Oh, come on already, spring!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

  1. Holy hell, those mittens are full of squee.
And the garden fence is lovely. I’d love to have a really well organized area like that.
My hair is also stick straight and won’t hold a curl – but that hairstyle is so cute.

    Have a fun weekend! xo

  2. I love these little teases of spring, but I’m very ready for some consistent warmth and lots of blooming. Oh, garden photos make me swoon. I think we’re finally going to go for it this year with our garden and I’m thrilled (and terrified). I agree that teaching our boys to nurture is a largely overlooked aspect of parenting. I’ve heard nothing but good things about William’s Doll and hope to read it when Ezra’s old enough to not rip out the beautiful pages. 🙂 Have a lovely (and hopefully warm) weekend, Lauren!

  3. Well we are definately not experiencing spring here 🙂 But I am also already garden dreaming and ready for a thaw- just bracing myself for another couple months of hibernation. Love the mittens, W is obsessed with hedgehogs too (he calls them heh-haw).

  4. Oh the mittens! Hedgehogs are everywhere here, so all the kids love them. I WISH I could make these for my girl. Maybe she’ll settle for the heart in the apple. Love it all. =)
