Enjoying Spring

These past few days I have felt myself turning a corner. It was getting to be a rough winter, to tell the truth. As the light changes and occasional warm days break the cycle of cold and rain and snow, our family is noticeably happier. It’s truly amazing what a few days in a row of fresh air does to my entire being.

And with garden preparations under way (we are expanding and adding a real fence), there is a lot of work to be done. The inside work of keeping this big old place clean is just going to be on the back burner for a while so I can just feel like myself again. And that means more days outside in the sunshine, tilling soil and pulling up clump after clump of grass by hand. Our spring compost pile is already hard at work, and the wheelbarrow full of yard debris. I couldn’t be happier…DSC_0150

  1. Different places, parallel lives/feelings? I couldn’t agree with you more! I feel like I even LOOK better these past few days. Fresh air is amazing and the sun just can’t be beat. Hope it keeps on shining for you guys and that you get a string of uninterrupted outdoor days this week! Your garden plans sound exciting! I got a big smile just reading about them. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I couldn’t agree more! Spring here is well underway and it’s glorious, glorious and that makes all the hard work worth while. Happy Spring Dear!

  3. I am with you, this winter was way too long- and I’m sure with having surgery (and on my end being sick), it just made it all the more of a tough season.

But now we are on our way to spring, and judging from those short sleeves you guys are actually already there! It’s not really as warm here as I’d like, but I can just feel it coming and the longer days are enough to shift my mood. Glad you are feeling the same… and can’t wait to see that garden fence take shape!
